Disappointed with setup/scheduling of Etta James Concert

On December 1, 2003, some friends and I had tickets to see the Etta James performance at the Ryman. The concert was advertised to start at 7:30pm Central Time. Upon arriving at the Ryman at 7:10pm, we spoke with an usher who informed us that a "warm-up" band would perform, but Etta James would not take the stage until 9:00pm and that performance would last for an hour and a half.
