An honest take on things to do
Profile: Carol (nycitymama) is an adventurer at heart. She spent most of her corporate life as public relations professional and working in the publishing industry before she left it all to focus on her kids and her dream of becoming a travel writer and photographer. She has travelled ever since she was a little girl and loves discovering new places, tasting new treats, and meeting people from all over the world. Carol also writes for New York Mom's Blogs, the Center'd blog, and shares the stories and photos from her own adventures in her hometown of New York City and beyond in her blog, The Adventures of an NYCity Mama (www.nycitymama.com). Carol's Favorite Vacations: Though my husband and I both love Europe and talk about revisiting often, we realize that with three young, active boys, vacationing abroad is not as easy, nor as relaxing, as we would want it to be. Thus, when not taking advantage of all the wonderful kid-friendly activities our city has to offer, many of my favorite family vacations consist of road trips to quiet beaches in Massachusetts, admiring the Fall foliage in Maine, apple picking in upstate NY, or hiking in Pennsylvania.

Celebrating The Holiday Season in New York City

Enjoy the Theater and Performing Arts in New York City
Oct 26, 2009; No CommentI am not sure what you think of when you first think of New York City, but for me, when I am away from my beloved city there are two things I miss: Central Park and the performing arts scene. I’ve talked a little bit about it here before; the lights... Read more »
The Badlands in South and North Dakota
Sep 24, 2009; No CommentAs we traveled out West, my husband kept mentioning wanting to see “the Badlands”. I honestly couldn’t understand why any place in the world would ever been named in such a way, unless it was truly a horrid place, and if so, why we... Read more »
