Best Photo Spots for New England Fall Foliage

Taking in Cadillac Mountain
Fall in New England is a photographer’s dream come true. The window of opportunity is often brief when trying to time blue skies, cool temperatures and free weekends. So here are my top picks for spots to visit when the moment presents itself for optimal shooting and general jaw dropping awe at the beauty that is Mother Nature:
CONNECTICUT:
Heublein Tower – Talcott Notch State Park, Simsbury

Heublein Tower on Talcott Mountain

View of Hartford from inside Heublein Tower
MAINE:
Cadillac Mountain – Acadia National Park, Mt. Desert Island
Autumn Atop Cadillac Mountain
MASSACHUSETTS:
Quabbin Reservoir – Enfield Lookout, Belchertown/Ware
Quabbin Reservoir
Path Along Quabbin Reservoir
NEW HAMPSHIRE:
Cathedral Ledge, North Conway
White Mountains from Cathedral Ledge
View from Cathedral Ledge
RHODE ISLAND:
Swan Point Cemetery, Providence

Gazebo at Swan Point Cemetery
VERMONT:

Dam on Green River
All of these beautiful spots are accessible by car so you don’t have to lug your camera equipment up and down lengthy terrain to capture those perfect photos. But if you want to take a hike, that option is available as well. Peak leaf peeping season starts late September in north country and makes its way down to the southern regions during mid to late October.

Wow, those are beautiful photos, someday I hope to take a tour and go to each spot you suggested.
Ah, New England foliage…it gets me every time. Thanks!

Wonderful.
And since I’m from CT, I can personally vouch for both Talcott Mountain and “the Quabbin”.
Great spots for the leaf peepers!
Loved the photos. The Berkshires are beautiful this time of year too.
