Crayola Factory and National Canal Museum in Easton, PA
At Two Rivers Landing in downtown Easton, PA, sits a unique museum combination: The Crayola Factory and National Canal Museum. The admission price of $9.50 for ages 3 and up includes two organizations; the Crayola Factory takes up the majority of the building while the National Canal Museum resides on the top floor.
The Crayola “Factory” isn’t where the crayons and other art supplies are actually made, although there is a demonstration area that shows the crayon and marker-making process. The Crayola Factory also includes several areas where families can use various Crayola products. Admission includes tokens for each person that can be redeemed for a small package of crayons, a marker, or some clay.
The National Canal Museum showcases the canal system that once was prevalent in the U.S.; it has several hands-on activities for children. Our kids especially liked the waterworks area, where they guided their boats through the canals and locks. During the summer, a ride on a nearby canal boat is also offered.
Down the block from the factory and museum is the Crayola store, which also includes Big Blue, the world’s largest crayon. Here you can find Crayola-themed items and souvenirs, as well as harder-to-find Crayola products. The store is huge and we enjoyed shopping for new art supplies.
If you’re planning to visit the Crayola Factory, advanced reservations are recommended because tickets sometimes sell out.
