Heading to the zoo for Valentine’s Day may not seem like a romantic idea at first, but you may want to think about it a second time. The Marjorie McNeely Conservatory, adjacent to the Como Park Zoo, offers the chance to enjoy an Enchanted Evening with your sweetheart this year.

The conservatory, a beautiful place to visit any time of year with its tropical gardens and beautiful flowers, will be decked out in all its finery for a romantic meal for you and your loved one. Tables will be set amidst the greenery, and a gourmet candle-lit meal with live music will allow couples to dine in a summer-like atmosphere, no matter what the weather outside.
The Enchanted Evening is offered on February 13 and 14, 2011, with seatings at 5:30 and 8:00. This special meal carries the cost of $165 per couple, and reservations are required. All of the details can be found at the Enchanted Evening website.

Navarre Pier Fishing Beach
I don’t need a tourist attraction to draw me to a beach – if there’s sand and water I’m in paradise – but I’m always a sucker for the fishing piers that jut into the surf from many of Florida’s beaches. Their intended function is to help anglers fish in deeper waters, but I am content to just walk along their wooden planks until I’m farther from land than any human ought to be without a boat.
No pier in Florida will you get you farther than the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier in Santa Rosa County, Florida.
