There’s no dearth of beautiful beaches and oceanfront getaway resorts along the Pacific Coast in Southern California, but the popularity of Laguna Beach has more to do with the accumulation of attractions related to the arts and wildlife.
The biggest of these attractions in Laguna Beach is the Laguna Art Museum. To get the full benefit of the artistic Rx available in Laguna Beach, check out this public art map which showcases over 65 original pieces of public art in Laguna Beach and the artists who created them, inspired by the beauty and culture of Laguna Beach, the Pacific coastline and the marine wildlife.
Art festivals held in Laguna Beach include the famed Festival of Arts and the Sawdust Festival. If you can manage to visit when these festivals are in progress, that will make your trip even more worthwhile.
While you’re there, you can enjoy the pleasures of Main Beach, located on the Pacific Coast Highway at Laguna Canyon Road. Just north of Laguna Beach is Crystal Cove State Park, ideal for scuba diving and surfing. Also very popular in Laguna Beach are kayak tours and whale watching expeditions.
A must-visit for nature enthusiasts is the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, which rescues, rehabilitates, and releases back into the wild sick and injured seals and sea lions. In addition to being able to gawk at the recuperating ‘inmates,’ you also get a guided tour of the facilities and a slideshow presentation.
If you’re sick and tired of your daily routine and in dire need of rescuing, no better place to visit than Laguna Beach. They’ll take you in, open your eyes to the beauty that is all around you and release you back into the world.
