Baton Rouge, Louisiana is home to many unique attractions, and one of their star venues is the Irene W. Pennington Planetarium where you can learn about the night sky and current celestial events, explore the solar system and see our galaxy in ways you never have before.
The Pennington Planetarium features a 60-foot domed theater with an amazing multimedia presentation. The projection system puts you in the middle of the action while the surround sound system envelops your senses. It’s truly a sophisticated set up using the most advanced visual and audio technology available.
The Planetarium is part of the Louisana Art & Science Museum, so admission including both places runs $8 for adults and $7 for children. It’s closed on major holidays and has different shows running at different times throughout the year.
The museum offers plenty of hands-on activities for children of all ages, so your visit should be a blast for the entire family. You can plan corporate parties or children’s birthday parties at the Planetarium as well.

What a great planetarium. Kids just love them – thanks for posting this. I know I’ll be visiting Baton Rogue sometime in the next year, and I’ll be sure to check it out.
