Thanks for including New Orleans. We love it there in December. Best time to visit, and we always get the best rates on hotels. Just booked our long family weekend there and got a gift certificate for Commander’s Palace…YUM! Got it at http://www.neworleansonline.com/promos/2008/christmas/.
I have to admit the Dollywood lights are quite spectacular. Getting into the park is pretty expensive, though. If you live within a few hour drive, I suggest buying a season pass–if you buy one during the 2008 Christmas lights it will last you through 2009. (2 one day passes is about the same price as a season pass…)

Adele - Thanks for the tips on the specials in New Orleans.
Lunchbox Obsessed - Theme parks can be pricey, but you are smart to mention the season passes, which are the best value if a visitor plans on visiting Dollywood more than two times in a year.
