West Edmonton Mall Wave Pool - The World's Largest Indoor Wave Pool

West Edmonton Mall in Alberta, Canada, is absolutely huge. It’s the largest in North America and the fifth largest in the world. At 3.8 million square feet, this mall has everything you might ever need for a trip to the mall: two  hotels in case you’re too tired to drive back home after shopping  (Fantasy Land Hotel and the West Edmonton Mall Inn), a water park complete with a gigantic wave pool (the world’s largest), the world’s largest indoor amusement park, an ice skating rink,  a marine life exhibit and a theme park with roller coasters.

Even if all of that doesn’t interest you, you still have 800 store to explore and 20 restaurants (I’ve never seen such a large food court in my life.)

And then, there are the three Theme Streets: China Street, Europa Street and Bourbon Boulevard. All of these streets have restaurants, shops, cafes and nightlife offerings. I really enjoyed just walking around and looking at the architecture, art and colorful shops, as well as people watching. The mall is planned out well, and you can actually get some exercise in the two plus hours it takes to walk around the entire mall!

This mall is a bit overwhelming, and I’d definitely like to go back to explore it more. You’ll need at least one full day if not two to really appreciate everything that is there.
