The Savannah History Museum includes displays, multimedia presentations, a steam locomotive, and homoage to famous citizens like songwriter Johnny Mercer ("Moon River"). You can also see the movie prop bus stop bench where Tom Hanks told his tale in the Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump. Outside the Visitors Center, take one of the many guided orientation tours in an open-air tram or air-conditioned van or minibus. [Off The Beaten Path]

Save your money for something unique in the shop instead! more on Yahoo! Travel

My advice, though, is to visit the shop instead of the Mercer house itself-the tour is debilitatingly boring and only the ground floor is available to view. more on Yahoo! Travel
