In the summer months, by all means take the Silver Queen Gondola on its 18 minute trip up Aspen Mountain. On the way up - and certainly once you reach the top - you'll be treated to spectacular views of the alpine forest and meadows below as well as mountains in all directions. When you reach you're destination, you'll feel like you're on top of the world at 11,212 feet. Hiking and recreation is available at the peak, and there's a restaurant if you're hungry. The cost is $25 for adults and $14 for children. Visit http://www.aspensnowmass.com/summer_rec/aspen.cfm for the schedule.
