once on the stairs there is little chance to stop and start (aka hike a bike). when hitting the peak 1 mile trail, it starts out very technical (to mee anyway) and then evens out. 2 great views on on the right side of the trail 3/4 mile up and one at the end (most popular) great view of denver proper! more on trails.mtbr.com

It's got more of a forest ride feel, with good dirt and even loam in places, but it's been a relatively wet early summer. more on trails.mtbr.com
