Wonderful house fits Mark Twain's personality.
Anyone visiting Hartford should see this one-of-a-kind house. It seems to reflect Mark Twain's personality inside and out. My teens liked the tour even though one of them hasn't read his works yet. Anyone interested in American Literature owes it to him/herself to visit this wonderful house. Loved the visit!
We visited on a Sat afternoon and enjoyed a non-crowded, small group tour. You need to have 2 hours (and a literary proclivity) to enjoy a complete visit to the Mark Twain house. Take Exit 46 off I-84, turn right onto Sisson Ave., then right onto Farmington Ave. The house is on the right. From downtown, drive west on Asylum St., bearing left on Farmington Ave. The house is on the left
