The Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, founded in 1979, has treated over 12,000 orphaned or injured birds of prey, releasing over 40% back into the wild. The Center, also a nationally-renowned research institute, provides environmental education as well as advocacy for birds of prey, also known as raptors.

The admission fee is a $10 US donation, and there is free parking across the street. more on TripAdvisor

There is also a very peaceful and beautiful small lake on the property, over which there is a wooden gazebo where one can sit and watch the numerous birds that call this sanctuary home. more on TripAdvisor

From Disney it is a half hour drive or so on the highway, past downtown Orlando, in the middle of a residential area. more on TripAdvisor
