An Alister MacKenzie gem in Northern California

I just played the newly restored Pasatiempo Golf Course in Santa Cruz. It's a very impressive course, one of the few MacKenzie courses in the States that can be played by the general public (it's a semi-private course with ample time set aside for public tee times). It's also one of MacKenzie courses that, with the Tom Doak restoration, is generally true to the original MacKenzie design. If you're playing Pebble Beach or Spyglass, it's only about 45 minutes away, and many players walk away from Pasatiempo expressing the view that it's on par, or even better, than ... rcc777, a user of Tripadvisor.
