Shaker Hills is the best public course in Massachusetts except for Taconic (which is stupid cash without Williams credentials). The staff is great. The pace of play is great. 3-4-5 is awesome. Without a doubt, Shaker Hills is a very good golf course. The description of holes 3, 4 and 5 as being the most difficult in New England has a lot of merit. good but not great course . the staff needs to lighten up a bit and get over themselves . lots of " rules " and " don't do's " with a lecture before the round - I came here to enjoy myself - not get scolded - give your customers some credit . carts on the cart paths only make for a lot of walking... scrapper, a user of golfreview.com. My favorite course in the state. Everytime I have played the course was in excellent condition, showing good maintenance practices (ie, the tee markers were moved so the tee boxes weren't moonscaped).
