A for effort but this hotel was a disaster

We booked our hotel for a conference and got a cheaper conference rate, which is one of the reasons I assume we were treated the way we were - like we were not important in any way. First, we arrived late on a Friday night, and because the hotel was very full were given probably the worst room in the hotel - on the bottom floor, old decor still and with a view of the air-intake valves on the roof. However, this was not necessarily a problem per se - we understood we booked a cheap room, and the room was at least clean and relatively quiet (at first). The location of PH can't be beat really -right in the middle of the strip. They are remodeling everything, and what they have done looks great. HOWEVER, therein lies the problem. THEY ARE REMODELING. And apparently their remodeling can take place at any point in time. We were woken at 3:00 am on our 3rd night there to hammering and jackhammering ... female_wanderer, a user of Tripadvisor.
