About Honolulu

When you decide to take a vacation in Honolulu, Hawaii, there is more awaiting you than sandy beaches and excellent surf. The scenery is dazzling and the wealth of attractions is almost mind-boggling. Golfers will itch to get a chance to tee off at the Ala Wai Golf Course with its spectacular views of the skyline of Waikiki and the mountains. With all the things to see and do, you will probably make plans to return before you even leave because you realize there is so much you haven’t seen. When you choose Honolulu, Waikiki Beach is the ultimate destination. This is the most popular beach on Oahu with its two miles of sand. Most of the hotels in the city are located along this beach so that you have direct access from your lodgings. The areas toward Diamond Head are usually not as crowded as the central part of the beach and this area is also quite close to Kapiolani Park. You do have to have a ride in an outrigger canoe, an experience just as Hawaiian as a Luau.

Visit one of the world’s most natural environments when you visit the Hanuama Bay Nature Preserve. This nature preserve is dedicated to protecting the marine life of the area. It is only 10 miles east of Waikiki just off the coastal road and there is a bus that will take you directly to the park.  Here you can enjoy a snorkeling tour to see the exciting and colorful marine life but you have to be careful not to step on any of the protected reefs.
