This town is located in the ancient Puna District under the watchful eye of the Nounou Mountain. When you visit Kapaa, you have to participate in a luau to experience the true taste of Hawaii. One of the regular entertainment features of the ResortQuest Kauai Beach at Makaiwa is the Hiva Pasefika Luau on the Isle of Kauai. This fun filled evening is one of cultural and educational entertainment as you travel through the centuries of Hawaii’s history in songs and stories. This event takes place every evening, with the exception of Monday. In winter the start time is 5 P.M. and in summer the start time is 5:30 P.M. You don’t have to be a guest at the resort to take in this event and the cost is quite reasonable.
If you want a taste of adventure to add spice to your romantic vacation, the Birds in Paradise may be just what you need. This is the ultimate in a hang gliding experience where two or three trikes fly together through the skies over the island. You get to see the spectacular scenery from up above on one of three different flights for the length of time that suits your needs and what you want to see.
