The Alabama Museum of Natural History showcases the natural history of Alabama from the time of the dinosaurs up to the present time. There are extensive displays of zoology, geology, paleontology, mineralogy, as well as ethnology. Located in historic Smith Hall, an excellent example of Beaux-Arts architecture, the museum has recently undergone a major renovation.
