Worth a look
Montezuma Castle and Montezuma Well are easily accessible from the Phoenix or Flagstaff area and are worth checking out. Montezuma Castle is basically a "look at that. It's an interesting Sinagua ruin, in a beautiful setting near water and trees. There are other ruins nearby. I was lucky enough on my first visit a number of years ago to actually climb in and walk around the castle ruins. Directions
Directions: Follow I-17 to exit 289 (90 minutes north of Phoenix, 45 minutes south of Flagstaff). Drive east (through two traffic circles) for approximately 1/2 mile to the blinking red light. Turn left on Montezuma Castle Road.

Montezuma Castle Visitor Center: Open Daily: 8 AM- 6 PM (June-August), Open Daily: 8 AM -5 PM (September-May)
