Accessible, free and impressive
I visited D.C. several days after breaking my foot and wasn't sure if I could make it up to the monument. What a pleasant surprise to see the elevator sign! First you see this massive, gorgeous building and then once you get to the top of the steps you see the reflection of the Washington Monument in the Reflecting Pool which is a breath-taking sight.
