My group did divert from the gravel trail at Richmond, on our return, by taking Armada Ridge road, about five miles, to pick up the gravel path and then only had about two /three miles on the gravel. more on TrailLink.com
On my return trip I used 31 Mile road which WAS fun and virtually NO traffic. more on TrailLink.com
