The Birmingham Civil Rights Institute is one of the city's newest museums with one of the finest collections of Civil Rights-era memorabilia and exhibits in the South. In addition to its permanent collection, it also hosts a variety of traveling and special exhibits that use art, photography, or other media to tell the story of the struggle for Civil Rights in the South as well as across the globe.
