This highly regarded museum in Albany covers a variety of aspects pertaining to the state of New York, including exhibits on the ecology, archaeology and history of the state as well as art features. Perhaps the most widely-acclaimed and popular exhibit, however, is the permanent one covering the 9/11 tragedy and its aftermath at the NYC World Trade Center site. Admission to the New York State Museum is free and it is open daily from 9:30 am to 5pm.
