In addition to an impressive permanent collection that's displayed across more than 18,000 sq. feet and features pieces by renowned artists like Claude Monet and Georgia O'Keeffe, the North Carolina Museum of Art also has an amazing outdoor sculpture garden that spans more than 160 acres. During the summer, the museum hosts a number of special invents including concerts and outdoor movie showings.

She was kind enough to point out some of the touch-ups that the museum staff have worked on in order to preserve or restore the paintings, etc. If art isn't really your thing, they have an excellent café that serves up the most delectable selections for pretty reasonable prices. more on Yahoo! Even when the museum isn’t playing host to such renowned works as those of Rodin, Picasso, and Ansel Adams, it is still worth coming in for a visit. more on igougo
