Arguably the best history museum in South Carolina, the South Carolina State Museum has over 70,000 artifacts in its arsenal. These include exhibits on art, archaeology, natural history and more. There's also an observatory, planetarium, 4-D theater, and a giant shark display that should appeal particularly to kids. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
