The Mud Island River Park is a fun, family-friendly attraction located in downtown Memphis. This complex includes an amphitheatre that regularly shows concerts and performances, as well as a highly regarded museum that focuses on the ecology of the Mississippi River. But its most notable element is the River Walk, which is a small-scale recreation of the lower portion of the Mississippi River, complete with structures and buildings that line its banks. You can actually take your shoes off and walk the .5 mile route in the shallow water.
