The entire movie and lower house tour only takes about 35-40 minutes, but after the tour you are free to roam the property and gardens all the way down to the James River. more on TripAdvisor

We stopped on our way from Williamsburg on scenic route 5 to pick up 295/95 in lieu of 64 east to Richmond (which takes longer and ia all freeway). more on TripAdvisor

The Westover plantation next door is $2,00 per adult, $0.50 children and seems to be better maintained and to have nicer gardens. more on TripAdvisor
