I loved the Air & Space Museum because everything was life size. Looking at all those airplanes and the engines, not just pictures, but the real thing. It was amazing! Doesn't live up to the hype

As a certified plane-nut, this museum is nice, but not special. On Independence Ave. SW, between 4th and 7th sts., on the south side of the Mall, with entrances on Jefferson Dr. or Independence Ave

Hours

Both locations daily 10am-5:30pm. The mall museum often opens at 9am in summer, but call to confirm. Free 1 1/2-hr. highlight tours daily at 10:30am and 1pm
