At the 29 Palms Inn, there are many different types and sizes of cottages. Once you go, you'll want to see all of them and stay (according to amount of people). Cheapskate Owner

Motel was adequate (barely) but was annoyed by cheapness of owner. He was unfriendly. There were not enough towels or toilet paper (and the tp was locked down as in a public restroom just to make sure the guests don't steal it). Nice place to lay your head

I stayed at the Hi Desert Hotel during a recent rock climbing trip at Joshua Tree (I'm not the camping type). It was pretty nice for a motel. It was newly remodeled, very clean. Staff was friendly. Cheap but don't expect a lot

The hotel was a decent place to stay if you are looking for somewhere cheap, fairly close to Joshua Tree, but don't expect anything great.
