Just a few miles west of Redding, California, the Whiskeytown National Recreation Area is a popular outdoor escape for those looking for camping, boating, hiking and other active pursuits in Northern California. The park is situated in the Klamath Mountain Range, and within it, there are plenty of Golf Rush Era buildings and mines that can be explored by following the trails.
