Mesa Verde National Parks draws nearly half a million visitor each year who are intrigued by the splendor of its natural setting and the intrigue of its history. Mystery surrounds the park as the ancient Anasazi lived here for almost 1000 years and then inexplicably disappeared around A.D. 1300. They left behind their stone villages, complete with towers, buildings, pools and more. The abandoned village has been preserved since that town, and you'll find it fascinating to wander the grounds.
