Wentworth State Park – Still Making Memories in 2006 Many years ago, no one can figure out just when (sometime in the early 1960’s), my parents and my older sister and I stumbled onto an enchanted spot located in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire – Wentworth State Park – about 80 miles and $2 worth of tolls from my hometown of Ipswich, Massachusetts. Part of the mystique of Wentworth State Park is the fact that Dad probably hasn’t taken the same route twice in all the years we’ve been traveling up to the Lake, so no one quite knows where it is. “Let’s take this left and see where it takes us” is how Wentworth State Park was probably discovered by my family. Our journey takes us along the scenic roads of New Hampshire and plops us into the mystical kingdom of sunshine, fresh air, barefootedness, bathing suits, water-logged fingers and toes, sun-splashed faces, wind-blown ...
