The peaks at the Crowders Mountain State Park are the highest in the Charlotte-Gastonia region and are a very popular destination for hikers, climbers and anybody looking for a little outdoor adventure. There is also a lake in the park with a fishing pier and covered picnic benches if you're looking for some leisure. A portion of the park is just minutes from downtown Gastonia, and it is open November through February 8 am - 6 pm; March and October 8 am - 7 pm; April, May, and September 8 am - 8 pm; and June through August 8 am - 9 pm.

I have hiked here 5-6 times during 2008 and plan to return many times to tack more on igougo

They all offer great views, some from the mountain and some of other mountains. more on Epinions.com
