You can see it in a day - to enjoy it takes at least two days. The park is more than the prairie area with all the animals. It is also the southern Black Hills area with wonderful lakes and spectacular views.

I would suggest you take the scenic wildlife route. Take some time to visit this and then follow the Needles Highway to Sylvan Lake and do a swim or picinc. This area is full of wildlife. Take binoculars as most is far from highway. ... more on Yahoo! Travel
