The Winter bird stars, the sandhill cranes, were basically no-shows in the fields and ponds immediately across from the Visitor's Center, after putting on a spectacular bathing show for us there on Christmas Eve (the first time I had seen cranes bathe--like watching rambunctious 4 year old kids splashing in a small plastic pool). more on Epinions.com
