Located between the Atlantic Ocean and the Intracoastal Waterway, the Hugh Taylor Birch State Park is an ideal place for swimming, saltwater fishing, biking, roller skating, birding and canoeing. Enjoy hiking along the two nature trails, have a picnic or a barbeque, or just take in the sun and the scenery. Parking rates are reasonable and canoes are available for rent.

There are a few short trails but they have been poorly maintained and in a state of gradual neglect. more on KidsPlayParks

If you plan on heading to the beach, I highly recommend parking at Birch State Park, there is a pass to the beach which is goes underneath A1A (the main beach road) and puts you straight on the beach. more on Epinions.com
