Situated near the eastern edge of Waikiki's coastline, the Diamond Head State Monument is a prominent landmark best known for its steep hiking trail and beautiful coastal views. Sitting on over 475 acres, this monument was formed around 300,000 years ago during a single eruption. Just a word of warning, because the hiking trail to the summit is very steep and uneven in certain areas, use your best judgment when making the trek and bring reliable gear. The hike itself should take 1.5 to 2 hours.
