A pleasant (but hot) Sunday afternoon at the City Park

Before my husband and I visited New Orleans City Park, I looked at their website, and it was full of hepful info with directions, park maps, days and times the attractions are open, fees, schedule of events, etc. We visited City Park on a recent Sunday afternoon. It was an easy drive up Esplanade from the French Quarter. Another reviewer has explained how to get there by streetcar. Many of the attractions are within walking distance of the streetcar stop, but bear in mind that this is a BIG park and the distances might seem longer than they look on the map, ... indiana31, a user of Tripadvisor.
