Other recommended trails in the same area: this fireroad to the end (about 5 miles uphill one way but w / awsome view at end), Wilson's Creek /Pisgah NF. more on trails.mtbr.com

for 8-10 miles, and the old fire road which winds up the mountain for aprox 5 miles with a great 360 degree view at the end /top. more on trails.mtbr.com
