Officially an interdisciplinary outdoor laboratory of St. Edwards University, the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve is also a public park with miles of hiking trails and an environmental center. Admission is by donation, with suggested amounts of a few dollars per person. Pets are not allowed. Some trails are stroller-friendly, and the reserve is open daily from dawn to dusk.
