Love it, Love it, Love it!

My husband and I visited Amish country last September. I loved it so much - the Amish, the crafts, the food, the hotel, the villages, the theater, everything there was so wonderful. Disappointed

I wonder if I missed something - everyone told me how wonderful and quaint the amish country was. To get there you go on highways and then busy rte. 30 - all lined with outlets, fast food places, corn fields. something new each time

I make the 7 hour trip to lancaster county about once a year with my husband and boys. Every year I find something new, from Glicks farm, where there is BBQ, handmade crafts and baked goods, every friday in Euphrata there is a Green Dragon farmers market. Sundays are A Day of Rest

We were in the area East of Lancaster (Bird-in-Hand, Intercourse, etc.) on a Sunday this August. We hadn't thought ahead to realize that ALL stores and restaurants were closed on Sunday.
