In addition to being the core of San Diego's hip and lively nightlife scene, the Gaslamp Quarter is also a terrific spot to catch up on some of the city's fascinating history. The Horton Grand Hotel was built in the late 19th century, and back when it was two different hotels, the famous frontier lawman Wyatt Earp stayed there. If you ever tire of walking the 16.5-block quarter, hail a pedi-cab to go between shops, restaurants and other must-sees in the Gaslamp Quarter.
