In addition to being an ideal place to learn about state government and legislature, the dignified Michigan Capitol building is renowned for its exemplary Gilded Age architecture and beautifully restored interior. Public access is free, and guided tours run frequently. The grounds outside are a good place to stroll, and also contain some historically significant trees.
