I generally believe Bear Mountain is better for beginners because 1 it�s cheaper and 2 the trails are less intimidating. more on Epinions.com

So far my best recommendation is parking at Mills st road, just pass Edgemoor rd, you do need a forest adventure pass. more on trails.mtbr.com

For a good view of Big Bear Lake, take the Sky Chair up to an elevation of 8000 feet at the top of the Snow Summit ski area. more on igougo
