We loved walking though the forest preserve. It was honestly the most enjoyable part of our vacation. The boardwalk keeps your feet dry so that you can walk though the marsh and over a rice paddie. 4.0: Swampy fun, but take bug spray

We went for a late morning hike in the preserve and it was a good time -- wildlife, flora, pretty/interesting views. The trails were well-kept and not crowded, but beware of horse droppings and DEFINITELY use bug spray. We got about 50 mosquito bites.
