  • Neat place to visit! The open cut mine at Homestake Mine is enormous! We stopped at the FREE viewing area and museum/gift shop. The mine was so deep that we couldn't even see the bottom from the viewing area! They offer a 1 hr bus tour but that is too long for our little ones but others may enjoy... more on TripAdvisor

  • Spent about 2 hours looking through the Adams Museum last summer while in Deadwood. It gives you a good idea about how the people lived (and died) in this raw rowdy town. One room gives you information and history on its famous and (some infamous) citizens like Potato Creek Johnny, Jane and Bill.... more on TripAdvisor
