open cut viewing area
Neat place to visit! The open cut mine at Homestake Mine is enormous! We stopped at the FREE viewing area and museum/gift shop. The mine was so deep that we couldn't even see the bottom from the viewing area! They offer a 1 hr bus tour but that is too long for our little ones but others may enjoy...
