Descriptions from Across the Web

  • * The Spa at Grand Lake is an 85-acre country retreat with a weight loss and physical fitness focus. The property's 44 guest accommodations are situated in two New England Colonial buildings offering views of New England scenery. The atmosphere on property emphasizes escape from the pressures of contemporary life. The nightly room rate includes a daily 30-minute massage (a full menu of treatments is available a la carte), three healthful meals daily, all fitness classes (of which there are approximately ten available each day), and bus/train transfers (on stays of two nights or more). Fitness and wellness classes are offered on a weekly schedule and may include Yoga, Guided Meditation, Aqua Tai Chi, and Abs-Butt-Thighs. A heated indoor pool and an Olympic-sized outdoor pool (open in the summer) provide additional ways to exercise. * Because nearly all guests visit the spa on a daily basis to claim their complimentary 30-minute massage (most choose to enjoy other treatments as well), the 3,500-square-foot (325 square meters) area is one of the property's central locations. Five treatment rooms are available, including two massage rooms (separated by privacy-preserving drapes into three stations per room), two facial rooms, and a body treatment room. Pleasantly Surprised

I traditionally don’t do reviews but felt I had to after reading this review. About two weeks ago 3 friends and I decided to get away and have what we called a girl’s weekend. We are all professional mothers with adolescent children. I have visited spas in the Berkshires and Arizona and had never heard of The Spa at Grand Lake. I went on trip advisory and on Spa Finders to find out more about this spa. Trip Advisory was positive but Spa Finder ... Gisela, a user of www.spafinder.com. Read full review on SpaFinder.com

Great fitness classes

I stayed at the spa for a week in 2006 and haven't had time to review it until now - as I contemplate gong back! I went for a week with my mother. We enjoyed being together, ... Joelrahana, a user of www.spafinder.com. Read full review on SpaFinder.com

No frills for a lot of money

Went to this spa thinking I'd found a low-budget, near to NY retreat reminiscent of the Regency in Florida. Think again. I had made an error on my cost analysis and turns out that Spa at Grand Lake is a 1/4-1/3 more expensive than some of the much fancier near-by spas in CT. Realizing it was my error, I decided to suck it ... NYerwholikestorelax, a user of www.spafinder.com. Read full review on SpaFinder.com
